Another Smarter Science idea

A second experiment was about surface tension. We tested how many drops of water could fit on a coin.  After this teachers wanted to try different sized coins, different shaped coins, different countries coins. Again, it's all about inquiry and students exploring.

Smarter Science

We have been learning how to get more hands on learning happening in Science a along with increasing the amount of inquiry to develop innovation and creativity. Here teachers are doing different experiments.  One was milk with four drops of food color (different colors) dropped apart near center of dish. Then a qtip dipped in dish soap was touched in the center of the plate. Students make predictions, talk about their observations and confusions then may come up with different variables to test. 

Remembrance Day

We observed Remembrance Day early as we are off now until the 13th.  We had an assembly where we read a poem, listened to the last post a and observed a minute of silence for past and present veterans. Finally, we watched a video called Highway of Heroes. Grade 5/6 made this display.
